Because of the Covid-19 virus Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. moved our annual scholastic chess, over-the-board (OTB) tournaments to online/virtual events.
 

This year we enthusiastically look forward to the Online Virtual Cleveland Scholastic Open, October 10, 2020 and Online Virtual Louisville Scholastic Open, October 17, 2020
 

Online/virtual play allows us to reach a larger pool of potential scholastic players across the United States.

 

We will continue to provide the same quality of awards that we are known for.

 

Entry Fee: Scholastic Sections: $25  Collegiate Sections: $50

Louisville Scholastic Chess Tournament

This year because of the Covid-19 Virus

 

The 2020 Louisville Scholastic Chess Tournament will be conducted online in a virtual environment, managed in Chess.com

First Time Tournament Players:

The Unrated section is a great introduction to tournament chess.  First time tournament players are welcome and encouraged to participate.

 

Pairings:

All pairing created ASAP after each round ends.  Next game appears immediately!

 

Computer Assistance: Players using chess engine or other software assistance will be flagged by chess.com and will be reported to the USCF Ethics Committee and have their membership revoked.
