In 1980, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the March of Dimes formed a national partnership with Project Alpha (one of the Fraternity’s National Programs). This collaborative project is designed to provide education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases for young males ages 12-15 years.
Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. Alpha Lambda not only volunteered event manpower but created a team to fundraise because we want to do something about this. Though we surpassed our overall team fundraising goal, there is still much to be done to support moms and newborn babies. Special thanks to our team captain, Cecil Brookins, and advocacy chair, Charles Dixon, Jr., for their leadership on this event. Please consider visiting our team page below (may have to copy and paste into your browser) and making a secure, online donation. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated.
