While the morning was bitter cold, the atmosphere was electric. All program participants did phenomenal jobs, none more so than Wave 3 News Anchor, Dawne Gee, who served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Four dynamic speakers addressed the audience, each armed with a special message that resonated with all attendees. Filled with great food, all attendees were encouraged by the harmonious environment and sense of unified purpose the event achieved.
Special thanks to our speakers:
· Dr. Toni Murden-McClure, President of Spalding University
· John Johnson, Executive Director, Kentucky Commission on Human Rights
· Rep. John Yarmuth, US Congressman, US Congressional Third District (Kentucky)
· Dr. F. Bruce Williams, Senior Pastor, Bates Memorial Baptist Church
Additional kudos to the Scholarship Breakfast Planning Committee, led by ALEF Executive Director, Brother Gerald Joiner, and all Brothers for their assistance. The event was great success!!
