In a tradition of manly deeds, scholarship and love for all mankind, the Alpha Lambda Education Foundation (ALEF) has been organized as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. The goal of the ALEF is to promote community service, leadership development, and educational opportunities for and among at-risk youths, with a special emphasis on reaching out to young African American males. Founded in 2000, the organization currently sponsors such events as Project Alpha, Founder’s Day Celebration, Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant, and the West Louisville Community Scholarship.
